Our guests left early this morning and so we were able to pack our lunch basket and spend most of the day at the annual Air Show at Ysterplaats.  Lovely day and of  great interest as usual.  Saw American and Italian planes as well as our own stunt planes, helicopters and a mock aircraft attack which was entertaining.  The oldies like the Harvard brought back memories of  childhood.

Whilst in the West Coast area, we paid a visit to !khwa ttu which is a centre “dedicated to the culture and heritage of the San people of Sounthern Africa”.  So interesting and we have promised ourselves to pay a longer visit soon.

We eventually got to visit the West Coast National Park to see the spring flowers.  Unfortunately we left it too late and they were past their best BUT the joy of being out of the city and in a lovely scenic area – food for the soul!West Coast National Park

The whales at Hermanus are worth a visit – they are here to mate and calve until November/December so we have plenty of time to see them.   Spring is in the air and I feel Kirstenbosch Gardens calling – it must be a picture of flowers.

We have for the last three weekends wanted to take a drive to Langebaan to see the flowers – hopefully we can make it on Thursday if the sun is shining!   Gael dragged me  to the photo exhibition at the Hiddingh Campus in Gardens.   I was not to impressed, or was it that I expected more spectacular shots?   Any way it was still worth going to see.
